Q + A

How far is the Reno/Tahoe airport from the venue?

Reno, Nevada, is about a 90-minute drive to Bucks Lakeshore Resort. Yes, you will probably need a car. It is the Western US. Public transportation is, well, not really a thing in the mountains. Unless you can ride a donkey or pull a carriage by horse, then maybe you can horse-pool your way up the mountain like it's 1864. Cool, cool.

Why isn't there a Holiday Inn nearby?

The venue is a quaint, wonderful mountain resort in Qunicy, California. The nearest hotel chain is probably back in Reno. Plan accordingly? Yes. Or just bring a tent or a hammock. Either works.

Why here? Why allllll the way out here in California?

Andi is from the Carson City, Nevada, area and Stacey loves the outdoors and lots and lots of trees. And lakes. And camping. And rustic venues. It's called compromise and it is wonderful. Both Andi and Stacey also love pushing folx outside their comfort zones, so pack a bag, book a VRBO, and let's get to celebrating.

Can I bring my kids?

Only if your kid's name is Maclynn Bragg. If your kid's name is not Maclynn Bragg, we respectfully suggest you find yourself an incredible babysitter and have a night out in the mountains with us and 100 of our closest friends. Yes, there's an open bar. Let's go!

Seriously, tell me about the weather, please.

Okay. On July 4th, after being 80+ degrees all day, it snowed in the mountains. Maybe bring layers and prepare for a 40+-degree drop in temperature once the sun goes down. It's cool, we love dancing in parkas, too.

What should I wear?

Whatever you want. Be comfortable, we love you. With that said, we highly recommend no high-heels. It's a mountain resort and unless your are a RuPaul-level professional high-heeled shoe wearer, maybe leave those Louboutins at home. Chucks look good with a pantsuit, too. Just sayin'.

I have never been to a lesbian wedding. What should I expect?

Great question! You should expect a fabulous party with people in love. Just like every other wedding. Except there will probably be waaaaay more rainbows and glitter. But, really, who doesn't love rainbows and glitter? Also, us gays love a good party. I mean, have you SEEN pictures of a Pride Parade? We get DOWN!
